'La Vall d'en Bas', one of the 947
towns of Catalunya, is located at southwest of the region of 'La Garrotxa' (Girona), which
we'll find in the outskirts of the region's main capital, Olot, by going out to 'Santa

Its origins are due to lava pours of 'Croscat' volcano, which caused a barrier into 'Fluviā' river course, and then, the formation of swamps in the river basin which weren't dessicate up to XVII Century. The land's contribution, added to some other materials through the river till these swamps, forms the actual profile of the plain which is called 'La Vall d'en Bas'. | Its superficial extent is about 90,5 km2, and its altitude is between 450 mt. and 1.515 mt.. Actual population are 2.542 citizen. Its most characteristic silhouette is the formed by the mountain mass called 'Sta. Magdalena' and the 'Puigsacalm', the highest point in all the valley, at west wind. It limits with some towns which belongs to the 'Zona Volcānica de La Garrotxa'. | The town is formed by 7 villages as follows: El
Mallol, Hostalets d'en Bas, Joanetes, La Pinya, Puigpardines, Sant Esteve d'en Bas i Sant
Privat d'en Bas. We can also add the vicinages: Pocafarina, Can Trona, Cirera, Falgars,
etc. Almost all of them can be viewed from 'Falgars d'en Bas' and its belvedere, or, if it
